Join a Dynamic Team: Volunteer to be on the 2026 AHPA Board of Directors

As part of the usual turnover of board members who have completed their commitment to the association, AHPA is currently seeking nominations for board positions. We are looking for members in good standing who are keen and who value the importance of a strong national association of arthritis health care providers, researchers, students, and trainees.

Open Board Positions

President (1 year Position followed by 1 year as Past President) - Responsible for:

  • Preparation of the agendas for meetings
  • Chairing board meetings, the Annual General Meeting and other meetings that arise
  • Representing (or appointing a representative of) AHPA in relationships with external partners
  • Work related to the portfolio of Knowledge Translation (ie. Education, Research)
  • Preparation of the AHPA Annual Report

President Elect (1 year, leading to 1 year as President, followed by 1 year as Past President)

  • Learning how AHPA functions so as to seamlessly succeed to the presidency in the following year
  • During the President’s absence or her/his inability to act, the powers and duties of the President may be taken on by the President-Elect or Past President 
  • Work related to the portfolio of Sustainability (ie. Sponsorship, Membership)

Secretary (2-Year Position) - Responsible for:

  • Disseminating the agendas and minutes for all Board meetings and the AGM
  • Maintaining all working documents for the Board in Google Drive
  • Maintaining corporation documents securely
  • Distributing information and documentation as required

Professional and Career Development Chair (2-Year Position) – Work with a committee to:

  • Identify and address the learning needs of the AHPA membership through established and novel educational formats
  • Plan education webinars and annual Pre-Course
  • Promote and administer the Clinical Innovation Award
Nomination Process

Current members of AHPA can nominate themselves or another AHPA member. If the latter, the member being nominated must agree to have their name put forward.
