Join a Dynamic Team: Volunteer to be on the 2024 AHPA Board of Directors

As part of the usual turnover of board members who have completed their commitment to the association, AHPA is currently seeking nominations for four board positions. We are looking for members in good standing who are keen and who value the importance of a strong national association of arthritis health care providers, researchers, students, and trainees.

Open Board Positions

President-Elect (1-Year Position) – Responsible for:

  • Learning how AHPA functions so as to seamlessly succeed to the presidency in the following year.
  • During the President’s absence or her/his inability to act, the powers and duties of the President may be taken on by the President-Elect or Past President
  • Oversees the Research Chair and the Professional & Career Development Chair

Professional & Career Development Chair (2-Year Position) – Work with a committee to:

  • Identify and address the learning needs of the AHPA membership through established and novel educational formats.
  • Promote and administer the Clinical Innovation Award.

Membership Chair (2-Year Position) – Work with a committee to:

  • Identify and implement strategies to maintain and grow the membership of the AHPA.
  • Promote and administer the Lifetime Achievement Award.


Secretary (2-Year Position) – Responsible for:

  • Recording and uploading, or causing to be recorded, formal minutes of all Board, Presidential Officer, and annual general meetings.
  • Corporate reporting obligations.
Nomination Process

Current members of AHPA can nominate themselves or another AHPA member. If the latter, the member being nominated must agree to have their name put forward. The deadline for submitting a nomination form is Friday, February 9th, 2024.
