Every year, the field of rheumatology changes with new knowledge collected by research scientists from across Canada and around the world. Translation of this knowledge is important for the development of evidence-based rheumatology practice. Since allied health professionals play a large role in rheumatology, it is important that they be able to provide evidence for their roles in the field and demonstrate the positive impact that they have on the care of people with inflammatory arthritic disease. The AHPA encourages its members to contribute knowledge to the field by holding an annual research grant competition and recognizing their research efforts at the Canadian Rheumatology Association’s and AHPA’s Annual Scientific Meeting.
