Biography
Juanit Fazari is a physiotherapist for the Arthritis Rehabilitation and Education Program (AREP) in Ontario. After graduating from McMaster University with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy, she attained her Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. She worked in private orthopaedic practice for over a decade, serving a wide range of populations including athletes, children, seniors and providing pelvic floor rehabilitation to women during pregnancy and post-partum.
Her interest in arthritis care and models of care for expanding access of care for Ontarians living with arthritis, led her to the AREP program and in completing her Advanced Clinician Practitioner in Arthritis Care (ACPAC) certification in 2024. Currently, as an ACPAC therapist, she works with the H-CARE (Hamilton Centralized Access to Rheumatology Evaluation) team in triaging referrals to rheumatology in her hometown of Hamilton, Ontario. She also serves the population of Grey Bruce County/Owen Sound through a hybrid-model of care with London rheumatology. She values her role within AREP; counseling clients, participating in various working groups and helping in mentoring new therapists.
Recently, she has taken an active role in the ACPAC SIG, as the pillars of education, research and advocacy are ones she is committed to in advancing our role within the health care system to better serve our communities.
