2020 AHPA Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The Annual General Meeting of the Arthritis Health Professions Association will be held on Friday February 28, 2020 at 12:30 pm MT at Fairmont Empress Victoria, Victoria, BritishColumbia

INTERESTED IN BECOMING AN AHPA BOARD DIRECTOR?  

The AHPA Board is a dynamic group of individuals, with national representation, all with a common interest in care provision, education, and research related to arthritis.  

We are currently accepting nominations for 5 positions on the AHPA Board of Directors.  Elections will be held at the AHPA Annual General Meeting on Friday February 28, 2019 12:30 – 2:00 pm in Victoria, BC, during the 2020 Annual CRA Scientific Meeting and AHPA Annual Meeting Feb 26 – 29, 2020.

We are seeking individuals with an interest in the following Board responsibilities:

Secretary, Treasurer, Professional and Career Development Chair, Sponsorship and Marketing Chair, and Member at Large Eastern Canada

BURSARY INFORMATION

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY AS CRITERIA FOR AWARDING TRAVEL BURSARIES HAVE CHANGED.

Due to a decrease in sponsorship funds, there are a limited number of travel bursaries available for distribution; please read carefully the information below:

Applications for travel bursaries will open on December 6, 2019 at noon EST. Successful applicants will be notified by December 13th.

You MUST be an AHPA member in good standing for the 2020 membership year at the time of your application to apply for the travel bursary.  All applications for non-members will be rejected. 

Bursaries will be awarded on a criteria basis.  Criteria are as follows:

Receipt of prior bursary: Priority will be given to those who have not received funding in the past.

  1. Involvement in rheumatology
  2. AHPA involvement (e.g. committee member, contributor etc)
  3. Essay question (Why attending the pre-course would benefit you?),
  4. First come first serve. 
  • Numbers are very limited.  A wait list will be maintained beyond the numbers available.  Successful applicants will be notified by e-mail
  • Registration for the Pre-course and the CRA meeting will be done through the CRA website. This is separate from the Pre-Course bursary application process.  You must register for the CRA/AHPA ASM on the CRA registration website.  
  • You may register for the ASM or the Pre-Course even if you have not received a bursary. Contact sponsorship@ahpa.ca for details on how to register for the one day Pre-Course only.

Please ensure the following criteria are met in order to receive your bursary:

  • You must send proof of CRA registration within 5 days of receiving bursary to connect@ahpa.ca
  • You must attend the entire full day AHPA Pre-Course on Wed Feb 26, 2020
  • You must attend the AHPA Annual General Meeting on Fri Feb 28, 2020 12:00 – 1:30 pm. Bursary cheques will be distributed at the conclusion of the AGM.
