Jill has been a member of AHPA since she joined the rheumatology team in Edmonton. She planned on joining the Board as the Member at Large, West, but somehow ended up as the President Elect! You’re in good hands though, as she has some experience, currently holding the Past President portfolio of the Alberta Branch of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists. Jill currently works at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Alberta and practices as a pharmacist at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic, providing care in a unique collaborative practice model where she routinely uses her additional prescribing authority to manage patients with inflammatory arthritis. She believes that pharmacists play a key role in ensuring best practice through the use of care pathways, such as the one aimed at improving patient’s vaccination status and reducing cardiovascular risk. Jill received her BScPharm from the University of Alberta in 2001, completed a pharmacy practice residency in London, ON, and subsequently received her PharmD from the University of Toronto in 2012. Last but certainly not least, outside of work Jill will be found out on the roads running or cycling, in any number of countries around the world - she does, after all, work to travel!
