President

  • Conduct Board and AGM meetings
  • Responsible for overall business of AHPA
  • Liaise with other professional organizations
  • Ensure AHPA carries out the priorities identified at the Board Planning Meeting.
  • Continue to help with organization and planning of the Advanced Skills Pre course
  • Continue to liaise with CRA regarding mutual educational objectives
  • Mandate of the President (as outlined in the Rules of Procedure)
  • Serve as principal spokesperson in matters of policy or official concern to the Association
  • Create ad hoc committees and task forces as needed
  • Appoint members to all vacancies on standing and ad hoc committees
  • Submit an annual report to the Association membership
  • Sit on the CRA board as a non voting member
  • Help in the organization and moderating of the Advanced Skills Pre course

President Elect

  • Assists with duties of the president
  • Automatically succeed to the presidency without further action by the membership upon the completion of the term of the president or in the event of a vacancy in that position
  • Have and perform the duties of the President whenever the President is absent or unable to act
  • Be a voting member of the Executive and Nominations Committees
  • Have and perform such other powers and duties, which may be assigned by the President.

Treasurer

  • Prepare a yearly budget
  • Pay bills which include: creating and sending invoices, reimbursement of expenses and tracking of monthly teleconference fees
  • Make regular financial reports
  • Track account deposits
  • Balance financial records
  • Provide and annual report

Executive Provincial representative

  • represent the provincial reps on the board and on the executive
  • Provincial Representatives
  • Communicate directly with the board or through the elected provincial representative.
  • Promote and market the association by informing your colleges and by handing out brochures about the AHPA when attending appropriate meetings
  • Communicate with other AHPA members in your province
  • Represent the interests of the AHPA on committee or at meetings in their provinces
  • Contribute items of interest for the quarterly newsletter
  • Attend a minimum of 3 board meetings a year usually held by teleconferencing
  • Attend annual general meeting when possible, now a part of CRA

Education/Conference Chair

  • Plan annual conference
  • Facilitate access to learning resources and educational opportunities
  • Solicit presentations to be added to Team Room
  • Establish partnerships to further augment the availability of educational resources for our members (e.g., collaboration with pharma groups for educational presentations, materials, etc.)

Communications Chair

  • Produce monthly newsletter
  • Maintain Team Room
  • Assist Board and other members with communication issues
  • Professional and Career Development Chair
  • Define, recommend, coordinate and implement programs that strive to achieve the Association's educational objectives, including the national scientific meeting and other programs and all publications of the Association
  • Organize and establish such subcommittees and task forces as the committee deems necessary or appropriate to carry out its objectives

Sponsorship and Marketing Chair

  • Market AHPA to Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s) across country in collaboration with membership committee and provincial representatives
  • Obtain names of AHPA’s working in rheumatology across the country from local reps and with assistance of Pharmaceutical reps locally
  • Explore sponsorship opportunities as determined by AHPA Board
  • Liaise with CRA and Pharmaceutical companies regarding educational opportunities in collaboration with the education committee
